Back on the grass

The outdoor season at Goats Poznań kicks off in spring and runs through autumn. Sessions take place on the TKKF fields in Poznań — Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00–6:30 p.m. This is when baseball shows its best side: grass, sunshine, and a full-size field.

What does a typical session look like?

Every training follows a consistent structure, but it's never boring:

  • Warm-up — running, stretching, coordination drills. 10–15 minutes to get the body moving.
  • Catch — throwing in pairs is the foundation of baseball. We work on throwing mechanics, accuracy, and receiving at various distances.
  • Rotation stations — hitting off a tee, soft toss, fielding (catching grounders and fly balls). Groups rotate every few minutes.
  • Game situations — base running, positional defence, cut-offs. We drill real scenarios from games.
  • Scrimmage — sessions often wrap up with a short game to put everything into action.

Why is spring a great time to start?

The season is just beginning — groups are forming, coaches have time for individual feedback, and newcomers start on equal footing. No need to wait until September — the sooner you start, the more season you get.

Weather and flexibility

We play in light drizzle but not in storms. If weather cancels a session, we announce it on our channels. We don't require 100% attendance — we understand life doesn't always revolve around baseball (though it could!).
